Setting replacement part numbers

Many times a replacement part number will utilize the same barcode as the discontinued item. In Paladin, all references to an inventory item must be guaranteed unique, meaning a barcode cannot be shared between two inventory records.

To remove the current bar code from an old item and placing it in the new record:

1. In Paladin, from the top ribbon, select the Inventory module.
2. Enter a part number in the Part # field, then press Enter.
3. On the bottom ribbon of the module, select F6 Serial # & Alt Part #.
4. In the Alternate Part # & Serial # window, enable either Alt Part # or Serial #.
5. In the Enter Alt Part # (or Enter Serial #) box, enter the Alt Part # or the Serial #.
6. Click either Add, Remove, or Make Default.
7. When complete, click F12 Finish.
