How to send files

  1. In Paladin, on the top ribbon, select the PO module.
  2. In the Purchase Order tab, in the Supplier list, select Do It Best, then add the items to the purchase order.
    Note: SKU 311111 is a chalk line that is less than $5 and is a popular one to use for testing purposes.
  3. On the bottom ribbon of the module, click F8 Confirm PO.
  4. On the bottom ribbon of the module, click F1 Buy.
  5. In the PO Number window, in the PO Number box, enter a preferred number, or leave it blank to accept the default number, then click Next.
  6. In the PO Complete window, click Done. If a confirmation window opens, purchase orders will be automatically uploaded.
  7. Check your email account for a confirmation message from Do It Best.

How to receive files

  1. In Paladin, on the top ribbon, select the Inventory module.
  2. On the bottom ribbon of the module, click F9 EDI.
  3. In the EDI Processing window, click Download Files.
    • If there is only one EDI supplier, all files will download and process automatically.
    • If the store has more than one EDI supplier, in the EDI Maintenance Processing window, select your supplier name, then click OK to download and process all files.

Note:  Files will be processed in this order:

      • Maintenance
      • Invoice
      • Price Change
      • Promos
      • Anything else

When the EDI files have been downloaded and processed, the Find PO window will automatically open.

Note: Paladin closes all filled POs; therefore, only open POs appear in the Matching Purchase Orders pane of the Find PO window.

  1. In the Find PO window, in the Matching Purchase Orders pane, in the Selected column, select the checkboxes for open purchase order(s) that were received in full during EDI processing, then click Close POs. The Find PO window closes, and you are automatically returned to the EDI Processing window.
  2. In the EDI Processing window, click Reporting to review reports about the processed EDI files.
  3. When the EDI files have been downloaded, close the open purchase order.
  4. Click Reporting to review reports about the processed EDI files.
  5. To create reports in the EDI Reporting window:
    1. Select a Start Date and End Date.
    2. Optional: In the third unlabeled list, select the record types (EDI file type) that you want to review.
    3. Click Get EDI Records.
    4. In the list of results, you can review reports in the following ways:
      • Highlight a row, then click the magnifying glass.
      • Highlight a row, then click Generate Report.
      • Click View in Excel to show the list of reports in Excel.
        • This option only shows a history list of processed EDI files for the selected record type; it will not provide details about individual EDI files.
        • To create this report, you must have Microsoft Office 2007 or later.
