Stores utilizing integration between Paladin POS and a back-end pharmacy system have always had control over collection of electronic signatures for transactions. This new feature removes some of that control. Beginning with this release, even if Paladin POS has not been instructed to collect a proof of delivery signature, a proof of delivery signature will be recorded (and passed through to the pharmacy system if allowed).
This new feature only adds a signature step in the rare cases where the customer does not sign a signature pad for any other purpose related to this transaction. The storage capacity of the Paladin POS databases is immense, and the space required for storage of a few additional signatures is minor. It seems appropriate that stores be able to prove that a customer was present in the store or not.
