The June 1, 2020 change date in this article applies to most Paladin clients. For a few Paladin clients, this report change may occur on a different date, but the concept and result are the same.

In the Comparative Revenue Report, Ace Instant Savings and Dynamic Promotion totals for transactions processed June 1, 2020 or later will no longer appear in the REVENUE SOURCES section. Instead, these totals will appear in the department revenue list under two new department categories:

  • Ace Inst Savings (Dept ID 10201)
  • Ace Dynamic Prom (Dept ID 10202)

Note: The new department totals will appear as negative values because they represent discounts on invoices.

This change was made so that the revenue totals on the Comparative Revenue Report will match the revenue totals on the Sales Tax Details Report. The Instant Savings and Dynamic Promo totals on the Comparative Revenue Report have not changed—they are just accounted for in a different way because they can be taxable.

There is no change to how Instant Savings and Dynamic Promo are applied at checkout or when an item is returned.

Note: Because of this change, when you run the Comparative Revenue Report for a date range after June 1, 2020, in the REVENUE SOURCES table, the Instant Savings (INST SAV) and Dynamic Promotion (DYN PROM) totals for the current time period will appear as $0.00 because they were processed after June 1, 2020. You will need to look at the new departments to see the current totals. The previous year’s totals will continue to appear in the REVENUE SOURCES table until May 31, 2021, after which they will also appear with the current totals under the new departments.
