Wallace EDI invoice processing uses the Break Pack Threshold $ setting in Paladin Configuration and the inventory item’s order quantity (Order Qty) to determine when to “break the shelf pack”. The inventory item’s unit of measure (U/M value on the General tab) must be BK to support broken pack quantities.

The Break Pack Threshold $ value is set in Paladin Point of Sale by Paladin Support after a discussion with the store owner. The default Break Pack Threshold $ value is $10.

Wallace EDI maintenance file processing sets an item’s order quantity and supplier ratio to appropriate values when the unit of measure is BK.

About the Break Pack Threshold $ setting

The Break Pack Threshold $ value sets the maximum amount that you will spend for a supplier’s case or shelf pack before “breaking the pack”. When the threshold is exceeded, and both the supplier and item support broken cartons, EDI processing will “break the carton” and only order enough items to meet customer demand. Typically, this will set the item’s order quantity to one item.

The Break Pack Threshold $ value is specified for each EDI supplier individually. If you are interested in setting this value, contact Paladin Support.
