Several states have enacted regulations that require store owners to apply inventory item specific charges to the customer’s invoice every time items are sold. Paladin has always had the ability to achieve this, but the hard-coded name for this surcharge presented an issue in its use. A store can now name this  satisfactory to their local government requirements.

To apply a store’s own label to the Paladin Core Charge feature:

  1. In Paladin, from the main menu, select File > Setup.
  2. Select the Invoice (Store) tab.
  3. Check Use Alternate Core Charge Identifier.
  4. In the Core Charge Identifier field, add an identifier name. Note: The name is limited to 14 characters in length
  5. Click Save, and then click Close.

The Core Charge field label on the General Tab of the Inventory Screen will automatically change to the new name. Anytime an inventory item that has a “core charge” associated with it is sold, the invoice will automatically display the secondary charge for the item with the updated label name.
