How to set up Paladin terminals to process BlockChyp gift cards

  1. Open Paladin on any store terminal and sign in as Paladin Support.
  2. From the main menu, select File > Setup.
  3. Select the Dept tab.
  4. In the Departments pane, click New.
  5. In the Name box, enter: BlockChyp Gift Cards
  6. In the Department label number box, enter an unused department ID.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Select the Class tab.
  9. In the Classes section, click New.
  10. In the Name box, enter: BlockChyp Gift Cards
  11. In the Class ID box, enter 2001.
  12. Click Save. The item that you entered will appear in the ID-Name pane.
  13. Select the Credit Card tab.
  14. In the Gift Cards pane:
    • Check BlockChyp Gift Card Activation.
    • In the BlockChyp Gift Card Class Number box, enter 2001.
    • In the BlockChyp Gift Card Reload Class Number box, enter 2004.

     15. Click Save, and then click Close.
     16. Restart Paladin.

How to set up the Blockchyp gift card SKUs

To set up the Blockchyp gift card SKUs:

  1. Open Paladin on any terminal and sign in as Paladin Support.
  2. From the main menu, select File > Setup.
  3. Select the Credit Card tab.
  4. In the Gift Cards pane:
    • Check BlockChyp Gift Card Activation.
    • In the BlockChyp Gift Card Class Number box, enter 2001.
    • In the BlockChyp Gift Card Reload Class Number box, enter 2004.
  5. Click Save, and then click Close.
  6. In Paladin, on the top ribbon, select the Inventory module.
  7. In the Inventory tab, on the bottom ribbon, select F2 Add Item.
  8. In the Add New Item window, enter the  following values:
    1. Part #: BCGC
    2. Alt Part #: If established, enter a part number. Or, click Next X # and accept the default given. For example X00006.
    3. Description (Desc 1): Blockchyp Gift Card
    4. Cost: 0 
    5. Sell Price: 0
    6. SOH: 0
    7. Department: Select Blockchyp Gift Cards
    8. Click F12 Add.

If the store has tax considerations:

     9. Select the Pricing tab.
    10. In the Pricing Levels pane, if gift cards are taxable at time of sale, select the Taxable checkbox. If gift cards are non-taxable at the time of sale, make sure the Taxable checkbox is not selected.
    11. In the General tab, in the Classes pane, in any Class column, select the appropriate BlockChyp Gift Card class and click the padlock to lock on the Classes pane.
    12. In the Item Information pane, in the Dept: list, select BlockChyp Gift Cards, and then click the padlock to lock the value. 
    13. If the store has BlockChyp gift cards as non-inventory items, on the General tab, in the Item Information pane, check Non-inventory.
    14. Click F12 Save.

How to check the balance of a Blockchyp gift card

  1. Open Paladin on any store terminal and sign in as Paladin Support.
  2. From the main menu, select Tasks > BlockChyp Gift Card Balance.
  3. In the BlockChyp Gift Card Balance window, swipe the gift card. The Amount Remaining will appear.
  4. If just one card balance is requested, click OK. If there is more than one card to check, click Check Another Card Balance and repeat step 3 above.
