June 5, 2019: Recent automatic updates from Microsoft and Adobe may prevent you from printing reports and other documents in .PDF format. The PDF document will appear correctly on your computer monitor, but will fail if you proceed to print. 

What you need to do

Perform these steps on all Paladin Point of Sale terminals:

  1. Click the Start button (typically on the bottom left of your screen), and search for any of these installed Adobe apps:
    • Acrobat Reader X
    • Acrobat Reader XI
    • Acrobat Reader DC
  2. If you find one of the these apps, select the app to open it.
  3. Perform the steps for the app you opened.

Acrobat Reader X or Acrobat Reader XI:

  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. In the Categories list, click Security (Enhanced).
  3. In the Enhanced Security pane, if the Enable Enhanced Security checkbox is selected, clear the checkbox (deselect the feature). If the checkbox is not selected, do nothing.
  4. In the Categories list, click General.
  5. In the Application Startup pane, if the Enable Protected Mode at startup checkbox is selected, clear the checkbox (deselect the feature). If the checkbox is not selected, do nothing.
  6. Note: If a warning message appears, click Yes to continue.
  7. Click OK, and close the Acrobat Reader app.

Change security settings in Adobe X or XI

Acrobat Reader DC:

  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. In the Categories list, click Security (Enhanced).
  3. In the Sandbox Protections pane, if the Enable Protected Mode at startup checkbox is selected, clear the checkbox (deselect the feature). If the checkbox is not selected, do nothing.
  4. In the Enhanced Security pane, if the Enable Enhanced Security checkbox is selected, clear the checkbox (deselect the feature). If the checkbox is not selected, do nothing.
  5. Note: If a warning message appears, click Yes to continue.
  6. Click OK, and close the Acrobat Reader app.
